Fantastic Fitness Inc. is basically a personal training business aggressively striving to serve the fitness needs of clients in Boardman and the Mahoning Valley region. The business which was started in 1997 has evolved from part of a larger fitness business to a stand-alone entity.

 

What does the Fantastic Fitness Program Consist of?

The Fantastic Fitness Program starts with a well balanced diet which is shown on the diet page. Diet is the start of it all. Whether you are trying to lose weight or add mass, dietary control is essential. The physical part of the Fantastic Fitness Program consists of a 4 day workout schedule. The one-on-one clients usually personal train with Mark 2 or 3 days per week. Most have had tremendous results weight training with Mark twice a week and doing their aerobic sessions by themselves. Mark will direct you and get you started with the aerobic portion of the program, but feels that your money is spent most wisely by only doing the weight training under his direction. You can do the aerobic portion of the program on your own and are free to use his treadmill equipment anytime he is in the gym. His personal training approach will get you where you want to go.

Fantastic Fitness Weight Training Workouts

The 4 days in the program are 1) chest/biceps 2) quads/hamstrings/calves 3) shoulders/triceps and 4) trapeziums,/lats/lower back/abs. Stretching is used at the beginning of each session and the appropriate stretches are performed before and after each exercise to reduce soreness and injury potential. Aerobics and proper rest round out the program.

There are four levels of repetitions for men and women. These are tailored to address strength, endurance, and definition. Failure is only achieved on the last set of each exercise and the weight for each set is change to accommodate the ability of each individual client. Mark keeps very detailed records for each set so that he know exactly how to design each workout. Nothing is left to chance.

Form and Stretching

Mark emphasizes correct form in every exercise and stretch. There are never any shortcuts. You are his responsibility from the moment you step into the gym and he will not leave your side during the training. For Mark there is only one correct way to do things. What is the Cost of Training with Mark?

The cost that Mark charges is well worth the money spent by his clients. His personal training charges are currently (4/1/11) $27 per session, which is generally about an hour in length. This cost is well within personal training costs in the Northeastern Ohio area. In fact, the cost is a real bargain. You will be well pleased with the professionalism and results. Importantly, you have no charge for using the facility. You only pay as you use his services. There is no minimum number of session, but we know that you will make great progress on the weight training program and be back for many, many sessions. Mark makes training fun. Depending on Mark's available time and the time slot you require, you may be paired with another client. Mark tries to make the pairings compatible for both clients. In every case, you will get the same attention you would obtain if you were training alone. There are no short cuts and you will be very pleased with the professionalism and the results. You will be amazed at the attention and concern that you get every minute of every session.

I have never used weight training. Will I be able to do it?

Mark's nurturing style will assure your success. You will come to really look forward to the sessions and the continuing progress that you will make. Mark has trained many people that never picked up a weight. The stretching and weight training program that he developed allows people to start right off with minimal, if any, soreness. Does Mark Train Teens?

Definitely! Mark has trained both male and female teens and is very interested in expanding this portion of his business. Teens have a great opportunity to use weight training to improve their health and fitness, look great, and enhance their self esteem. The weight training improves discipline which will extend into all aspects of their lives. Many teens use the weight training to improve strength and add mass for sports, but the training is excellent for all teens regardless of their goals. What are Mark's Hours of Business?

Mark generally trains clients in the mornings and evenings Monday through Friday. He is also available on Saturday morning. He generally starts as early as 6:30 AM and continues morning sessions until about noon. Evening hours start about 4 PM and conclude as late as 9 PM. In general, Mark tries to accommodate his clients realizing that their training time must fit within their work and activity schedule.

What is the cancellation policy?

Mark encourages cancellations 24 hours in advance of the session. However, he has a very liberal cancellation policy and is understanding of the many things that come up in our everyday lives. Continuing cancellations may result in charges being assessed, but Mark makes every effort to accommodate his clients and create a cordial atmosphere. He runs his business with the clients needs as his number one priority. He wants to see you succeed.

How do I get started?

Give Mark a call at 330-501-4952. He will discuss various issues and concerns with you. This will allow you to get an overview of the program and determine if the program is right for you. Aerobics are a key component of the Fantastic Fitness Program.


Aerobic training is the foundation on which we must build. Aerobic, i.e. with oxygen, allows the heart and circulatory systems to become well tuned and strong. Just as a car cannot go far without a well tuned engine, so too a human body will not progress to good fitness without a strong heart and circulatory system.

Many good texts have been written concerning aerobic fitness. It all boils down to getting your heart rate up to the training level and maintaining exercise at this level for at least 20 minutes. If you are trying to be a super athlete, more time will be required. For the person wanting to get into good health, this is usually enough when done at least three times per week. The exercises can consist of walking, running, jogging, cycling, stepping, bicycling, and stationary cycling, etc. It depends on what you like to do. Whatever it is, the heart must be worked at a sufficient level so that improvement of function occurs.

In my program, I incorporate an aerobic plan so that improvement occurs. I will guide your progress and you will see results. I will give you a hard copy of age adjusted heart rates to achieve the training effect. This will give you a guideline for your aerobic training.



Why do you consider the Fantastic Fitness weight training approach the best the industry has to offer?


Once the heart is strengthened with aerobic training, the rest of the body must be conditioned using strength techniques. There are as many theories and programs for strength training as there are trainers – and I have used many of them. Many of these programs have resulted in much effort and little gain. Many of them drained most of my energy so that I had barely any left to do daily tasks. Some left me with sore and tired muscles, which were not effective in doing much of anything. Many programs touted the approach that if a little is good, a whole lot is better. Most ignore the vital link with diet. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

The best procedure I have found is to allow each muscle group to be worked only once a week taxing it completely and then allowing it to rest and repair. The million dollar question is "How do you do that"? Most programs tend to overtrain you, leaving you tired, sore and disgusted. My personal training business techniques allow muscle groups to be sufficiently taxed and to repair completely. I understand how to design a program efficiently so there is no wasted effort. I will treat you with the same respect and enthusiasm as I treat each and every client. The program will work for you if you honestly follow it.
